Where can I buy it? The Posh Peasant sells hand-decanted samples, ranging from 1ml for $3.50 US to 10ml for $32 US. If you're looking for a full-sized bottle, StrawberryNet stocks the 50ml and the 100ml EDT for $59.50 US and $76.50 US respectively.
The lovely Abigail from The Posh Peasant sent me a sample of 24, Faubourg Eau Delicate after I mentioned on Perfume Critic that I’d never tried it before. I put it in my box of samples to try, and completely forgot about it...until today!
Picking another small vial at random for Sample September, I looked at the label and found The Posh Peasant’s logo. I smiled and remembered what scent it was straight away.
24, Faubourg Eau Delicate is a light, green, soft floral. On my skin, I can’t really pick one note that dominates the mix – the sweet white flowers mix perfectly with the green leaves, and the powdery musk base backs it all up. There’s no real change on my skin, other than the initial blast of strength when first sprayed. It softens quite quickly, and remains the same for the 3 or so hours it stays on my wrist.
When I worked in a fragrance store, I remember spraying the original 24, Faubourg on a spray card for a customer and the liquid, completely missing the paper, landed on the back of my hand. It felt a lot like a classic fragrance from the 50s – a multi-faceted chypre, classy and elegant. (Not sure if I can pull it off, unfortunately!)
Where the original has the ambery sweet, strong presence that not everybody can get away with, the Eau Delicate version, in my opinion, is more wearable (maybe, more safe...can I say that? LOL). Because of the softness of the florals, and the powdery base, 24, Faubourg Eau Delicate would be something I’m sure any age could wear!
